    Hitting Instructors:
    Jacqueline(Jackie) Morris- It was at Canisius College where Jackie learned that she had a passion for teaching, while working the many camps and clinics. A 4-year starter at Canisius, Jackie has left her mark in the record books under 11 categories, along with making two NCAA post-season appearances with the team in 1997 and again in 2000.  She has appeared on several Empire State Softball teams, the last in 2005, after having her first child.  She has experience coaching at the high school and college levels, with her first experience at D’Youville College where she was the Head Women’s Soccer Coach and Assistant Women’s Softball Coach from 2001-2002.  She also coached from 2003-2006 at Niagara University, where she was the Assistant Softball Coach in charge of hitting and defense, focusing on defensive strategies.  She has been an active member of the NFOA, where she is one of a few women umpires and hopes her example will encourage more women to join. Jackie and her husband just celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary and have two children, Billy (4) and Francesca (2).

    Lauren Picciano - Having earned a Masters in Social Work at the University at Buffalo in May 2008, Lauren capped off an illustrious career at UB. During her 4 undergraduate years (2002 – 2006), Lauren was a 4 year starting shortstop and scholar athlete.  To add to her achievements, Lauren was elected as the “Top New Comer” in 2002, “Most Outstanding Player” in 2006 and was a multiple recipient of the “MAC Athlete of the week.” She was also appointed Team Captain in her Senior year. In her first year of graduate school, 2006-2007, Lauren became the assistant softball coach at D’Youville College.  Still having a passion to play softball Lauren earned her way on to the Empire State Softball team in both 2007 and 2008, where they finished with a bronze and silver respectively. Prior to attending college, Lauren grew up in the Binghamton, NY area and played for the elite Conklin Raiders travel team. During her years on the team they were 3-time New York State ASA Softball champions.
