Letter from the Baseball President Welcome to Lou Gehrig Youth Baseball East Amherst, New York, USA
Lou Gehrig Youth Baseball and Softball (“LGYBS”) is dedicated to encouraging its players to fulfill their own baseball dreams. In co-operation with the Williamsville Central School District, LGYBS currently has over 1200 players, ages 5-18, playing on our Amherst complex.
The league has two divisions; house league and travel league. The house leagues are designed to be instructional and recreational while the travel program is groomed for the player that wants a more intense experience. LGYBS is equally proud and supportive of both programs.
Lou Gehrig baseball owes its success to its army of volunteers, including its 5 directors, 12 level coordinators , and over 120 head and assistant coaches. Directors and Associates are elected at our October board meeting and all interested parties are encouraged to talk to the board members and join are team of Board of Directors.
In addition to its summer program, LGYBS offers: several winter clinic’s from January to April at the NARC and Clearfield.
The league remains committed to our program of improving the fields on which we play. LGYBS is financially self funded and all of our revenue comes from our family members by means of registration fees, sales at the concession stand and from community business sponsorship. LGYBS has completed significant facility upgrades to several of our fields. We consider this program part of our ongoing mission.
Our web site has been designed to provide its users more information about our association, its programs and our kids. We hope you find it useful. www.lgybs.com
If you have comments about LGYBS or the web site, please email us by using the contact function on the main page. We hope to see you at the diamond.
