LOU GEHRIG YOUTH BASEBALL/SOFTBALL MANAGERS, COACHES, PARENTS, and PLAYERS
CODE OF CONDUCT
I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care and encouragement for my team participating in Lou Gehrig Youth Baseball and Softball by following the league’s Code of Conduct pledge: ¨ I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all participants, parents, coaches, umpires, Board Members, and staff at in-league sponsored events either at the Lou Gehrig complex or away. ¨ I will place the emotional, psychological, and physical well-being of my team, and any other children in the league ahead of any personal desires I may have. ¨ I will insist that my Team participates in a safe and healthy environment. ¨ I will support all coaches, board members and others working with my Team, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all. ¨ I will demand an environment for my Team that is drug and alcohol free at all league-sponsored events. ¨ I will remember that the league is for the youth and not for managers and coaches. ¨ I will do my best to make this league fun for all involved. ¨ I will require my Team to uphold Lou Gehrig’s zero tolerance policy of treating other players, managers, coaches, Board Members, parents and spectators with respect; regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, creed or ability. ¨ I will refrain from any and all vulgar, lewd or obscene language or gestures while participating in or watching any league sponsored event whether home or away. ¨ I will direct all my comments and criticisms to parents, participants, umpires and Board Members away from children participating in the league, and conduct myself in a calm, civilized manner when doing so. ¨ I will read the Lou Gehrig Youth Baseball/Softball Managers Manual and agree to abide by those rules, responsibilities and Code of Conduct. Violation of these rules could result in disciplinary action up to and including permanent dismissal from the Lou Gehrig Youth Baseball/Softball league. |
